Shanferon (recombinant interferon Alfa 2b) is a protein produced in the yeast Pichia pastoris. It is also used for treatment of AIDs related kaposis’ sarcoma and genital warts that has anti-viral, anti tumor (cancer) and immunity enhancing properties. It is used for the treatment of many cancers including chronic myeloid leukemia, kidney, urinary bladder and skin cancer. It is also used for the treatment of liver disease caused by hepatitis B and C viruses.
