Oxaliplatin belongs to the group of medicines called antineoplastics. It is used to treat cancer of the colon or rectum. Oxaliplatin is usually given along with other medicines to treat cancer. Oxaliplatin belongs to a new class of platinum agent. Oxaliplatin forms reactive platinum complexes which are believed to inhibit DNA synthesis by forming interstrand and intrastrand cross-linking of DNA molecules. Oxaliplatin is a radiation-sensitizing agent. It is cell-cycle-phase nonspecific.

Amifostine is used to help prevent or lessen some side effects caused by other medicines or radiation therapy that are used to treat cancer. The thiol metabolite of amifostine is responsible for most of the cytoprotective and radioprotective properties of amifostine. It is readily taken up by cells where it binds to and detoxifies reactive metabolites of platinum and alkylating agents as well as scavenges free radicals. Other possible effects include inhibition of apoptosis, alteration of gene expression and modification of enzyme activity. Healthy cells are preferentially protected because amifostine and metabolites are present in healthy cells at 100-fold greater concentrations than in tumour cells.

Cisplatin belongs to the group of medicines known as alkylating agents. It is used to treat cancer of the bladder, ovaries, and testicles. It may also be used to treat other kinds of cancer, as determined by your doctor. Cisplatin is similar to the bifunctional alkylating agents. It covalently binds to DNA and disrupts DNA function. Cisplatin also has immunosuppressive, radiosensitizing, and antimicrobial properties.

Letrozole blocks the use of estrogen by certain types of breast cancer that require estrogen to grow. Letrozole is used to treat breast cancer.

Letrozole is a reversible (Type II), nonsteroidal aromatase inhibitor. The goal of hormone therapy in breast cancer is to deprive tumour cells of estrogens, which are implicated in the development or progression of tumours. Letrozole does not have progestogenic, androgenic or estrogenic activity.

Shanferon (Recombinant interferon alfa 2b) is a glycoprotein produced in Pichia pastoris with immunity enhancing, anti-viral and anti-cancer activity. Shanferon is used in treatment of viral infections like Hepatiits B and C which primarily affect the liver. These conditions can further lead to conditions like liver failure and cancer if untreated. Its anti-cancer activity is very prominent against blood cancer like chronic myeloid leukemia. It is also used in many other conditions like cancers of the urinary bladder, kidney and skin.
