| Zoledronic acid
is used to treat hypercalcemia (high levels of blood calcium) that may
occur in patients with some types of cancer. It is also used to treat
cancer called multiple myeloma (tumors formed by the cells of the bone
marrow) or certain types of bone metastases (the spread of cancer). This
medicine may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor. |

Cyclophosphamide belongs to
the group of medicines called alkylating agents. It is used to treat cancer
of the ovaries, breast, blood and lymph system, nerves (found primarily
in children), retinoblastoma (a cancer of the eye found primarily in children),
multiple myeloma (cancer in the bone marrow), and mycosis fungoides (tumors
on the skin). Cyclophosphamide is also used for treatment of some kinds
of kidney disease. Cyclophosphamide is an alkylating agent of the nitrogen mustard type. Its cytotoxic effect is mainly due to cross-linking of strands of DNA and RNA, and to inhibition of protein synthesis.These actions do not appear to be cell-cycle specific. |
